CEO and Principal, Kenya Tyson, is a higher education executive, educator, and criminal justice expert who specializes in student success; criminal justice education; crime prevention; and race, crime, and inequality. Throughout her career, she has walked an interdisciplinary line between the fields of justice and higher education and has served as a subject matter expert in the areas of correctional education, crime prevention, and restorative justice. Kenya is also the Senior Associate Provost at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. Prior to Dartmouth, she held a number of executive leadership positions at universities and has nearly two decades of experience as an educator, administrator, and criminal justice practitioner –focusing primarily in the areas of Justice Studies and Public Policy. She also served as the Director of Training and Technical Assistance for Project Safe Neighborhoods, the US Department of Justice’s anti-gang initiative and has consulted on several DOJ projects working with jurisdictions across the nation on crime prevention and procedural justice initiatives. She has worked with universities and human rights organizations around the globe, facilitating trainings and presentations on crime prevention and pre-trial services, as well as higher education attainment, and has served in an advisory capacity for several professional organizations.
